One of the things that inspired me to start writing a blog was all of the amazing blogs and bloggers that I had a chance to follow and read over the years. With that in mind, I thought I’d take the time to share some of my favorite blogs… but then I started to compile that list and I realized it was huge. So I decided I’d break up the list into some sub-groups by type or topic of blog!
The first category up is RV & Travel! As you probably know if you’ve read previous blog entries, we have a Class C RV (see part 1 and part 2 of our path to ownership, as well as an RV tour) – and part of our path before and after purchasing the RV has been enjoying a lot of RV bloggers and learning about how they RV and their journeys. We also love to travel and learn about new places, so grouped in with those RV blogs are some general travel blogs!
Here are a few of my favorites…
Less Junk More Journey: This is a recent addition to my favorites but I’ve quickly worked my way through their archives and videos on YouTube. This blog (and their YouTube channel) follows Marissa and Nathan, and their daughter Hensley (about age 2) on their journey as they strive to live with less junk and experience more of the country. I really like how positive and upbeat they are – but also real and down-to-earth. Plus Hensley is adorable! I find that they’re a good source of practical suggestions as well as inspirational viewpoints on risk taking and prioritization They’re just extremely relatable.
Heart My Backpack: Another recent addition to my favorite blog list, Heart My Backpack is written by Silvia – an American (well dual American and Norwegian citizen) living in Norway after spending a significant amount of time traveling. The fact that she lives in Norway is one reason I love it! I’m about half Norwegian by heritage and have been fascinated with the country for a long time. But she also just has such a wonderful perspective on life.
Drive on the Left: A wonderful blog written by a couple of American Expats who moved to London. I love that this blog offers an opportunity to explore Europe through the eyes of Drew and Julie. Also a great place to go if you’re planning to visit European locations and want some suggestions or perspective.
Interstellar Orchard: Another full-time RVing blog, this one follows Becky, a single woman on the road. She has amazing practical advice and insights as well as going on a lot of adventures. I love that she boondocks a lot – and offers some off-the-beaten-path destinations. I also just think it’s very cool that she’s doing it solo and really taking control of her journey! I think it’s impressive when people forge their own paths – I’m more of a “do it in a group” kind of traveler so I appreciate hearing about the solo travelers.
So that’s it – four of my favorites. I follow a lot more but these really stick out to me! I hope you enjoy some of these folks as much as I do! Stay tuned for future posts with some of my favorite blogs in other categories!
